Star symbol in coffee grounds and tea leaves
Hope · Clarity · Guidance
What does a star mean in a coffee cup or tea leaves?
Traditionally, a star is one of the happiest signs in the cup: hope, success, and a wish that may come close. A star can reflect hope and direction, and what you are reaching for.
A question for reflection
What hope are you carrying right now?
One small step
Write your hope down in one sentence.
Where the star sits in the cup
- Near the rim: hope in what is close to you now, or soon.
- On the sides: hope in what is developing over the coming weeks.
- At the bottom: hope in what is settled, further away, or deep in the past.
- Near the handle: hope in you, your home, and the people close to you.
- Opposite the handle: hope in other people, and the wider world.
A clear shape counts for more than a faint one. Families and readers differ, so treat these as starting points.
