YOUR SPACE, YOUR WORDS
A quieter kind
of privacy.
Your question does not need to leave your browser to become a useful reflection.
What stays in this tab
Your topic, optional question, selected cards, personal notes, and reflection feedback are held in this tab’s memory. This application does not submit your question, notes, feedback, or a reading record to a server or AI provider, and does not store them in cookies, local storage, or an account. Refreshing or closing the page clears them.
Guided rituals
The same applies to our guided rituals. For free rituals, a word you write, the choices you make, your progress, and any closing note stay in this tab’s memory. With analytics consent, a completion event records only which public ritual finished and its mode. Premium access separately saves your playback position so you can return; your written reflections remain private in your tab. If you leave a ritual part-way, a paused place is kept in the tab so you can return; refreshing or closing the tab clears it. Ritual sound is generated in your browser, so no audio is streamed, and your sound and motion settings are not stored. “Download my reflection” creates a text file on your device containing only your note and anything you choose to include.
Saving is your choice
“Download my reading” creates a text file on your device. It includes your question and any personal note, so keep the file somewhere appropriate. Printing or saving as PDF uses your browser’s print function. Velvet Omen does not receive a copy.
Ritual reviews and feedback
Reviews are separate from your private ritual reflections. If you deliberately submit the feedback form, we store your rating, chosen display name, comment, tags, publication preference, and any private improvement feedback. Opening this form uses an essential session cookie so you can edit or delete your feedback in this browser. Public reviews can be read without opening the form. Free reviews are linked to that browser session; premium reviews are linked to the purchase email already held for access, and the email is never displayed publicly.
Publication permission is optional and unchecked by default. Only reviews you permit us to publish, and that pass moderation, appear publicly or contribute to ratings. Improvement feedback is always private. We moderate spam, abuse, personal information, and unrelated content, not negative opinions. Editing a published review returns it to moderation. Use the review form to delete your feedback; if you lose access, contact hello@velvetomen.com for help. Feedback is retained until you delete it or request removal. Requests are rate-limited using a hash derived from the connection address; that address is not shown with a review.
Free hand reading
If you request a free hand reading, you send us one photo of your palm, your email address, and optionally which hand it is. This and the cup reading by email are the only parts of Velvet Omen where you send us a photo. We use it only to prepare your reading and email it to you, and to send one confirmation that your photo arrived. Your browser removes hidden photo details, such as location, before sending, and our server removes any that remain.
Photos and email addresses are stored privately on our server, outside the public website. They are never published, shared, or sold, not used to identify you, and not added to any mailing list. Readings may be prepared with the help of AI tools. We delete your photo and email address 30 days after sending your reading, and within 90 days of your request at the latest. To have them deleted sooner, or to ask what we hold, write to hello@velvetomen.com. The form is for people aged 16 or older.
Free coffee cup reading by photo
If you request a cup reading by email, you send us one photo of the inside of your coffee or tea cup, your email address, and optionally what was in the cup. We handle it exactly like a hand reading photo: it is used only to prepare and email your reading and one confirmation, hidden photo details are removed, it is stored privately outside the public website, never published, shared, or sold, and readings may be prepared with the help of AI tools. We delete the photo and email address 30 days after sending your reading, and within 90 days of your request at the latest. To have them deleted sooner, write to hello@velvetomen.com. The form is for people aged 16 or older. The guided cup reading on the same page sends nothing: it happens entirely in your browser.
What the website receives
Like other websites, the hosting server receives requests for pages and assets, including connection information such as your IP address. Its standard access and security logs are separate from the reading. No reading or ritual text is added to these requests by this application. Requests for individual card images can reveal which cards were viewed, and requests for a ritual’s page and artwork reveal which ritual was opened. The hosting provider controls its logs and retention.
Google Analytics
If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand visits to the site and how its pages are used. If you reject cookies, or have not chosen yet, Google Analytics is not loaded. The Google tag may use cookies and collect standard usage, browser, device, and connection information. Our page-view events include the public page address and title. Visiting an individual card-meaning or ritual page can therefore reveal which card or ritual you looked at. We do not send your question, the cards drawn in an interactive reading, personal notes, or reflection feedback as analytics events. With your consent, we send tarot_reading_complete when all three cards are revealed, and ritual_complete when a ritual reaches its ending. These events contain only the reading type or public ritual identifier and mode (free, full, return, or music). They do not include your reading topic, questions, drawn cards, choices, notes, email, payment references, or private-library URL. Previews and early exits do not count. A new completed replay can count again; merely reopening a completed premium journey does not. Finishing after a chapter jump indicates reaching the ending, not that every minute was watched. No past completions are replayed if you consent later. Google Signals and advertising personalization signals are disabled in our tag configuration.
Analytics runs on the public Velvet Omen domain; local previews do not send analytics. Read how Google uses information from partner sites. Artwork and fonts are hosted with the site.
Cookies and your choice
On your first visit we ask whether you accept cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics and, on some pages, our advertising partner may use cookies or similar technology, as described below. If you reject, or have not chosen yet, neither is loaded, and the reading, the rituals, and everything else on the site work exactly the same.
Your cookie preference is stored in local storage; optional feedback and premium access use the essential session cookies described above, so we do not ask again on every visit. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you change to reject, we remove this site’s Google Analytics cookies and reload the page without that code.
Advertising
If you accept cookies, a small ad may appear on the free reading, card-meaning, library, and guide pages. It is delivered through our ad server (admedia.ignlab.net) and supplied by a third-party advertising network, which receives standard connection information, such as your IP address and browser details, and may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads.
The free card and cup reading pages (tarot, yes or no tarot, Lenormand, oracle, playing card, and coffee cup readings) have a 300×250 ad below the reading area. Its creative runs inside a sandboxed frame that cannot access the reading page, your question, selected cards or symbols, or notes. Only the fixed ad-spot identifier is requested; no reading information is sent with it. Ritual pages and the palm reading page remain ad-free. Moving from a page that runs advertising scripts directly to the reading or a ritual opens a fresh page to remove those scripts. Your questions, notes, and ritual choices are never shared with the ad server, the network, or Google.
A shared device
To clear a reading or a ritual, refresh or close this tab. Downloaded files and browser printouts remain wherever you saved them. Browser history may retain the pages you visited, but the application never puts your question or the cards drawn in an interactive reading in the address. Individual card-library pages include the card name in their public address.
This notice describes the first edition’s current behavior. Hosting configuration and any future changes to accounts or analytics should be reflected here before they are introduced.
