Feather symbol in coffee grounds and tea leaves
Lightness · Comfort · Expression
What does a feather mean in a coffee cup or tea leaves?
Traditionally, a feather suggests lightness and comfort, or restlessness when the shape is ragged. A feather can invite you to treat yourself more lightly, or to put feelings into words.
A question for reflection
Where could you be a little lighter with yourself?
One small step
Write a few lines about how you feel today.
Where the feather sits in the cup
- Near the rim: lightness in what is close to you now, or soon.
- On the sides: lightness in what is developing over the coming weeks.
- At the bottom: lightness in what is settled, further away, or deep in the past.
- Near the handle: lightness in you, your home, and the people close to you.
- Opposite the handle: lightness in other people, and the wider world.
A clear shape counts for more than a faint one. Families and readers differ, so treat these as starting points.
