Clouds symbol in coffee grounds and tea leaves

A clouds drawn inside a cup, from Velvet Omen’s cup symbols

Uncertainty · Doubt · Passing weather

What does a clouds mean in a coffee cup or tea leaves?

Traditionally, clouds suggest doubts or troubles; heavy, dark clouds more so, and clouds with dots around them, doubts about money. They do not predict misfortune. Clouds can reflect uncertainty, which passes like weather, and the value of waiting for clearer sight.

A question for reflection

What would help you see this situation more clearly?

One small step

Gather one piece of real information about what worries you.

Where the clouds sits in the cup

Near the rim: uncertainty in what is close to you now, or soon.
On the sides: uncertainty in what is developing over the coming weeks.
At the bottom: uncertainty in what is settled, further away, or deep in the past.
Near the handle: uncertainty in you, your home, and the people close to you.
Opposite the handle: uncertainty in other people, and the wider world.

A clear shape counts for more than a faint one. Families and readers differ, so treat these as starting points.
