What happens during the ritual

In a clearing at dusk, a lantern is lit, a ring of salt glitters, and three candles and a moonlit mirror mark what belongs to you. Each stage moves on by itself; there are no wrong answers and nothing to complete.

  1. 0:00–1:00 Arrival

A clearing opens in the dusk. Whatever brought you here, you are safe to pause for a few minutes.

A small lantern waits at your feet. Light it when you are ready, or let it light itself.

Notice the glow. Fear often feels bigger in the dark; a little light is enough to begin.

Optional: Light the lantern, or let the stage continue on its own.

  2. 1:00–2:30 Naming the weight

Something has felt wrong or heavy. You may fear that someone has wished you harm.

Fear like this is real, even when its cause is uncertain. You do not have to prove it or push it away.

Let it be named, gently, so it has a shape outside of you.

Optional: what has been weighing on you? (A worry that won’t leave, Bad luck that keeps coming, Someone I think wishes me harm), or make no choice.

  3. 2:30–4:30 The salt circle

A ring of salt glitters around the clearing. It marks a space that is yours.

The first candle waits on the circle. Let it stand for your breath: steady, and yours.

The second candle: your home, the places where you rest.

The third candle: your choices, which no one else can make for you.

Optional: tap to light each candle early. Otherwise each one does so on its own, one per minute.

  4. 4:30–6:30 The mirror

A round mirror rises inside the circle, dark at first.

Let it show only your own light. Other people’s words and wishes do not decide who you are.

If you like, say these words aloud or silently: “What is mine stays with me. What is not mine, I set down.”

Optional: Turn the mirror to the moon, or let the stage continue on its own.

  5. 6:30–8:30 What is in your hands

The marks around the circle begin to glow. Look at what is in your hands tonight.

No one needs your money, secrets, or fear to set you free. If someone asks you to pay to lift a curse, that is a reason for caution, not a sign of danger.

Choose one small, ordinary step. Ordinary care is its own kind of magic.

Optional: one grounding step (Talk to someone I trust, Rest tonight, Write down what I noticed), or make no choice.

  6. 8:30–10:00 Carrying the light home

The lantern lights a path out of the clearing. The circle stays with you as a memory, not a wall.

Begin to notice the room around you again: the air, the light, the sounds nearby.

When you are ready, carry the lantern home.

Before you begin

Find a comfortable place. You can turn sound on or off, preview it, and reduce motion before you start. Optional AI-generated voice narration reads the on-screen guidance. You can turn the voice off separately from the ambient sound. Pausing is always fine, so a session can take longer than ten minutes in real time. You can close the ritual early at any point; nothing is lost by stopping.

What this ritual can and cannot do

The Lantern Circle is a symbolic practice for reflection. It can help you mark a moment and notice what you want to carry forward. It cannot remove a curse, change another person, or guarantee an outcome, and it is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or legal help.

When to reach out

If the fear will not ease, is affecting your sleep or daily life, or you feel watched or unsafe, talk to someone you trust or to a doctor or mental-health professional. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services. And if anyone offers to remove a curse for money, please be cautious: that is a common scam.

Questions about The Lantern Circle

How can I tell if I have been cursed?

There is no reliable way to tell whether a curse exists, and no sign, reading, or run of bad luck can prove it. Fear of being cursed is real and can be exhausting, so this ritual does not try to prove or disprove a curse; it focuses on easing the fear.

Can someone remove a curse for money?

Be very cautious. Offers to remove a curse for payment, especially when someone first tells you that you are cursed, are a common scam that can escalate to larger payments. No one needs your money, secrets, or fear to set you free.

Does this ritual help with the evil eye, hexes, or bad luck?

It is not a remedy for anything supernatural. It offers a calm, symbolic space to set down the worry that envy, ill wishes, or a hard run of luck can bring, and to return your attention to what is in your hands.

What if the fear does not go away?

That is worth taking seriously. Talk to someone you trust or to a doctor or mental-health professional, especially if the fear is affecting your sleep or daily life or you feel unsafe. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Is this a protection ritual?

It uses familiar protection symbols, a salt circle and a mirror, but it does not claim to shield you from anything. A ritual cannot prove or undo a curse. Its aim is to calm the fear, remind you what is yours, and help you take one ordinary, practical step.

Why a salt circle and a mirror?

Salt has marked boundaries and hospitality in many traditions, and mirrors appear in countless folk practices. Here both are drawn on screen as symbols: the circle marks a space that is yours, and the mirror shows only your own light. Neither has power of its own.
